Lead pencils (the regular kind) will only write on the white painted surfaces of some plastics, typically like the 'nuts and screws bags' you find in hardware stores. This is because graphite is too slipperyto make an impression on smooth surfaces like polythene. - You need some kind of liquid marker like a "Sharpie"
