The only way to lower your alkalinity is to use a pH decreaser. adding acid will also do the trick but for vinyl pools it is easier to just use a pH decreaser ( which is acid) and then adjust the pH. Remember not to use expensive alkalinity plus...arm and hammer is alot cheaper and the same thing. It costs 1.87 for a 4 lb box.
Alkalinitywe haven't been able to get our pool clear...the alkalinity is soooo high and we are about to go nuts with tempt in 90's...HELP!work out how much acid is required and put the acid into a bucket with some water already added. Be careful not to splash as it is corrosive and particularly harmful if yo get it in your eyes (wear protective eye gear). with that done simply distribute the solution around the pool.
put something in it that will nuetralise it, put somethong acidic in it and that should do the trick oh and will you please recommend me!
They sell theese jugs of powder stuff called h add pH add.
It is also known as soda ash or pH Up.
Yes as long as there is wter in the pool first.
Muriatic Acid....Be real careful though.
Add potash. See your pool shop with a sample of your water and the size of your pool and he will give you what your pool requires.
Hydrochloric acid is most commonly known as muriatic acid and is used to lower pH in pools
Add acid, Muriatic acid works best but Dry Acid is also used.
In order to not cause irritation of the eyes and skin, the pH of the pool water should be between 7.2 - 7.6. Muriatic acid is added to the pool to lower the pH if it is too high.
pool acid is made up of muriatic or hydrochloric acid that is it.
use either muriatic acid or dry acid (sodium bisulfate)
That Acid is called Muriatic Acid. You put it in your swimming pool to lower the PH of the water. At lower PH Levels, the chlorine you use to sanitize the pool is more active, as a disinfectant. You MUST be careful not to put too MUCH Muriatic Acid in your pool! PH that is too low will create potentially deadly fumes, so test your water. Low pH is corrosive to plaster and metal pool parst.
You can't! Muriatic acid (~32% HCL) will not add any free chlorine to the pool and will not function as a oxidizer (Shock).
liquid pool acid is Muriatic acid or more commonly know as Hydrochloric acid (HCl)
It depends on the pH level in the pool and the gallons of the pools, also how many ppm you want to lower it.
