As a male, I can't confirm this method works specifically after pregnancy, but what I can say without doubt is, if you follow the following basic rules, regardless of gender or age, you will lose weight fast, which can be maintained comfortably into the future:

  • Eat more "natural foods" (vegetables, all meats, full fat dairy including butter, nuts instead of fruits in the first six weeks and no sweetened drinks)
  • Eat smaller portions only when you are hungry.
  • Avoid processed foods and drinks.
  • check the labels for sugar and keep your sugar intake from all sources to less than 4 teaspoons per day.
  • Get a calorie counter and keep track of your daily calorie intake.

The basics is you are trying to reduce your Fructose (part of sugar) intake.

I gained 60 pounds when I was pregnant...After I had my daughter , I was still 160 pounds, my overeating habits didnt diminish overnight, I actually gained a few more pounds the following weeks..Then I decided enough is enough ..Every morning i would put my daughter in her stroller and go for a long walk , at least an hour ... was drinking lots of water and everytime i thought about food i chewed gum or grabbed some precut fruit of veggies i had already prepared daily in the refrigerator..as the weeks went on i would up my walks to twice a day and it helped the baby and me sleep at night as well...By the end of the summer i had dropped 25 pounds and have been 130 pounds every since ...i developed lifestyle skills as well by doing this and as an extra benefit for me is that my daughter has been watchingme exercise and eat healthy since she was a baby , she is now 7 and already knows the importance of exercise and healthy eating habits..win win ...good luck
