One (1) point is awarded per goal scored, two (2) points for a win.

If a game is sent into overtime, or a shoot-out, the winning team receives two (2) points while the losing team collects one (1) point.

The score is kept by the person who also runs the clock (they usually run an entire scoreboard). When one team scores on the opponent's net then the score keeper will put one point on the scoreboard for the team who just scored. The team who wins is the team with the most amount of points at the end of the game.
