The shift solenoid, on your Ford expedition, is located on the top of the transmission. The shift solenoid can be accessed through the shifter counsel.

Check battery first, then solenoid. Try a jump.
The part is $46 from Ford dealer plus cost of labor unless you do it yourself.
More than likely the solenoid on the transfer case is bad.
Follow the + battery cable - should connect to the starter solenoid (relay)
There is one solenoid for each air boot. they are located at the top of the air boot, an electrical connector goes to each solenoid.
3 (1 large ground connected to frame,and 2 smaller ones to the solenoid)
Vehicle Anti Theft system. You have to use the correct ignition key to energize the solenoid and or other parts for the vehicle to start.
rear air unit has a air blending door solenoid, and is probably out. or broken making a clicking noise
