disconnect battery for 30 seconds
Battery disconnect or a scan tool.
You may need to replace the power control module.
If you fix the reason the light came on in the first place the check engine light will reset itself after a few drive cycles.

That sounds like problem in the cluster. The high beam indicator is cross wired to the check engine light when it shouldn't be.

Have the trans computer checked for codes, and ask a new question about the code you get.
You can go to your local auto store (auto zone, advanced auto parts) and they can read the code and reset it for you.
