Urine smell (even old urine smell) can be removed from fabric (clothes) easily with a mixture if vinegar and and non-chlorine bleach (never mix vinegar and chlorine bleach). Add during the laundry rinse cycle.

This method also works very well on carpets.

Adding white distilled vinegar and baking soda with your normal laundry detergent to the wash cycle works beautifully. You can also add a new product called Febreeze Laundry Odor Remover for extra measures, if needed. After washing, do NOT put in a dryer. The smell will return. Air dry outside and the smell is gone. The only items I noticed where the odor was not 100% removed were nylon-type materials.

you air it out until the smell is gone, if this process takes to long you simply scrub the smell away. once you have disposed of the actual urine in the furniture you will have the msell gone!!

I feel your pain. I've got a 14-year-old dog who's having a tough time "holding it" these days. A big key to reducing the smell is spotting the urine quickly and cleaning it up. Soak up as much urine as possible with rags or paper towels. If the spot was made on carpet, use a carpet cleaner formulated for pet stains. If the mess was made on wood, stone or vinyl surface, use a floor cleaner after soaking up the excess liquid.

If your home or a certain room is starting to smell, I suggest cleaning the bottom two feet of the walls (and trim) with a mild soap and water. (Sometimes dogs like to "mark" the walls.) If the floor is carpeted, call a carpet cleaning service that specializes in steam cleaning or rent a cleaner and tackle the task yourself. (Steam cleaning is gentler on carpets.) Don't forget the air fresheners too!

Good luck!

Most of the time the smell comes from "overspray" by male users of the toilet missing the mark. This means that urine has dribbled down the side of the commode and onto the floor.

A solution of Hydrogen Peroxide and baking soda with some dish soap will end that smell and clean the area.

A 500ml bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide poured into a bucket.

With 1/2 cup of Baking soda (this will foam)

and a squirt of dish soap

Mix gently and use this solution to wipe down the whole area from rim to floor and all around the toilet, make sure to reach the back of the commode and the area between the tank and wall.

This solution also rids dogs of skunk smell with one application (just be sure not to get it into the dogs eyes) and rinse the dog well after.

Have it professionally cleaned. The companies that clean carpets will also, in most cases, do furniture, too.

What type of fungicide do you buy for musty smells in furniture?

It should just be cleaned normally. You can add a cap full of pine sol to help. But, after it's cleaned to remove all of the musty smell, try to get an ozone generator and run it at least 24 hours in an enclosed area with the furniture. The ozone will penetrate all of the surface smell as well as the deep down smells. It will oxidize the bacteria that creates the smell. This works really well. The generators can be rented.

Yes it can. Have you ever been to an elderly person's home that shows neglect? The musty, moldy smell you sometimes notice comes from different sources in the home with dust being one of them. A great amount of dust on furniture can cause a sour, musty smell.
