Use Insecticide.
* Make sure first they aren't breeding inside the house. * Install flyscreens on all doors and windows. If that is not possible can you isolate, say, the kitchen/ eating room?
* A ceiling fan can keep flies away from a meal table if you can't keep them outside. * Chrysanthemum plants have pyrethrum which is a natural insecticide. * My father once obtained a paint that contained insecticide. The room he painted was constantly filled with dead flies. I wonder what the fumes did to my brain.
* You can make a fly trap from an empty soft drink bottle. Several of them around the garden might help. (Cut off the top third and reverse it, so it points downwards into the base. Once flies get in they can't find their way out. Bait it with some finely ground meat in water. The meat will rot and flies will be attracted to it. They will drown in the mixture which can then be added to your garden.)
A fly light trap is the best way-assuming they are larger flies and not small gnats. they respond well to UV. It's either that or you have to space treat areas. If it is a constant problem, look for anything conducive nearby and remedy-dumpsters, etc. potential fly breeding sites. Exclusion with screens or an air curtain or even fans, outside zappers etc. are other ideas. Just mount so lights do not draw flies to the entrance(s)
Call many people to take a net and shoo all flies.
Fly traps, fly strips, sticky strips, and other fly killers as tools for house fly control. These effective products are often the first and most effective line of defense against house flies when preemptive control fails, especially for indoor settings. The products could be the most practical solution if none of the natural and organic control strategies work. Some are toxin free, making them safe and non-poisonous.
I read this post, but it didn't help too much, since we don't keep plants in the house:

But we do have a recycling bin in the cellarway that I keep a garbage bag in, and don't replace it very often, so maybe that is where they are breeding.
I'm wondering if this might work:

There are a couple of ways to get rid of flies while barbequing and eating outside. You can spray yourselves with fly repellant to help get rid of the flies. You can also use citronella candles to get rid of insects.
I have nets all over my house...how do I get rid of them?
Shad flies can be rid of using a common insect repellent. If you an find their nest, you can use an insecticide.
Most likely they are fly larva. You can just sweep them up and get rid of them outside, otherwise they will hatch out into flies in your house. Clean the floors in those areas really well with a 10% bleach solution to rid any dirt or smell that may be attracting the flies to lay their eggs there.
