We have used a product called Kings Duck Solution that is applied to the area around the pool that the duck likes to frequent. It is all-natural and non toxic and ducks simply hate the stuff and leave...... and they have not returned. Easy. There is a web page ducksolution.com.au

Trapping is apparently the only sure fire method. Or a gun, I suppose, but that's mean. i don't think u should use a gun i think use a trap to remove them call animal control to relocate them hope this helps.

The Cox Arboretum Metro Park in Dayton, Ohio has a handsome border collie named Zipp that is trained to keep the Canada geese away, but allows the less problematic ducks to stay. It is a safe and humane solution. I would think a border collie with less specialized training would keep the ducks away too.

Call your nearest wildlife rehabilitator and see if they can give the name of an organization that can safely remove the ducks. However, if you have a mother sitting on her nest, it is illegal to remove her.

If I was you I'd take advantage of the situation and see if the newspaper will do a story on your ducks. That always makes a good human interest story.

Hello, Frogs love being around the water, especially during their mating season. However, they can be pretty noisy. Part of the reason that they are attractive to water is that they mate and give birth in the water. They normally do not reproduce in swimming pools due to the chlorine levels, but they do not know the difference. The best way to get rid of them is to enclose the swimming pool, ie by a gate, cover etc so that they will not be able to get in. Another alternative is to spray 'saltwater' or rock salt around the perimeter of the pool. The frogs hate salt because it hurts their feet. However, be careful not to put saltwater or salt rock around your plants; it may kill most plants. Hope this helps,,, Glowcam

We keep the mallards from landing in Dad's pool by hanging two strings of pennants over the pool area. It breaks up the landing/takeoff path and they evidently don't like it. I found some strings of small nautical signal flags that look nice - my Dad was a Navy signalman in WWII. With flags installed, not one duck has been seen in the pool over several years.

There are also motion sensors available that turn on a sprinkler - intended to chase away ducks and geese from lawn areas (might work in the pool.) It might work for deer in the flowers and garden, also.

get a pool cover(:

Getting a cover works however it looks unsightly and can be a chore in managing.

Best idea is to educate the duck not to visit. New to the world is a product called Kings Duck Solution. It safely moves the bird on. It is not added to the water.

Are ducks affected by chlorine in a swimming pool?

No, but if they swim in your pool a lot, the duck poop is going to make the water murky. Ducks and swimming pools are not a good combination. Pool sanitisers such as chlorine have no ill affect on the bird. Ducks like the pool environment as it is often a safe haven with clear water and unobtrusive surrounds. The duck droppings do have a negative effect on the pool water balance and will eventually clog the filter with the creamy white paste.
