How do you get discovered from a talent agent?

Do a simple search in Google, or Yahoo, or whatever engine you like to use. Find one/multiple agencies that you like what they do or have interest in and send them a headshot, resume, cover letter (short, stating that you would like their representation and 1-2 acting jobs you have had recently), and a self addresses envelope, with postage, for them to reply to you with their contract. Send the package in a big envelope with printed address labels for more professionalism.

Actually very simple to obtain an agent. Remember, never trust any company that wants you to pay $ first. Agents only get paid after they book you on a job and you get paid. Also, keep in mind, you and the agent are in a business relationship. You are both equals and need each other to work at all. LOVE YOUR AGENT and your agent will love you = more jobs and more money!

First of all it would help quite a bit if you actually have talent but if you don't then you will have to have a unique look that the talent agent feels he/she can sell to whatever industry they think you're good for. People are discovered in all walks of life but if you feel that you have a particular talent then you should pursue it. If you feel that you are unique looking or just very good looking the you can pursue a career in modeling and maybe acting. Acting can be a very dead end pursuit because Hollywood is loaded with lots and lots of good looking people. You need to be like George Clooney and take up drama and learn to act that way. You have to submit yourself following the instructions that are typically given on the talent agency's website. In most cases, you'll have to send them photos, a resume with any experience you may have as well as your stats/measurements.
