Dislocated collar bone is probably not the best term to use. You can have an AC joint separation which causes the collar bone look "popped up", which really causes the acromiom to be depressed. Or you can separate your clavicle from the sternum, which is less common. Either where there are criteria for clavicle fractures and AC joint separations to follow for treatment of these injuries. Typically it involves rest and physical therapy. In less cases, patients are taken to surgery if there is some rotational component, great amount of shortening, or disruption in the skin.
It is best to consult professional medical care regarding a broken collar bone. A broken clavicle can tear vital arteries that keep you alive. A shoulder cast is going to be your best friend for the time it takes the bone to fuse and become one again.
It differs according to the type and location of the fracture but in general you must first make sure the fractured bone is in proper alignment and then immobilize it until the bone heals by growing back together. Casts and/or pins are sometimes used for immobilization.
i just broke my clavicle 2 months ago. Let me tell you the most important step, WEAR A FIGURE 8 STRAP. Trust me, I didnt and my clavicle healed at an odd angle and now I might need surgery. Wear figure 8 strap, dont try too hard to get back it will screw it up even more, and dont move ahead of yourself. If your in the early stages, take it slow and dont rush.
I had a fracture once so i went to get it checked and they put a sling on the same side arm that i fractured the collar bone on . (tie the sling on the opposite shoulder)
You have to go to a surgeon
Xray :)
Ask the doctor. But I think it's when the bone has come slightly out of place. Like when you need to click your thumbs..
