Two of the top, and most trusted authenticators are PSA/DNA http://www.psadna.com, and James Spence Authentic (JSA) http://www.spenceloa.com. Collectors will pay more for signatures authenticated by either one. They both do business through the mail, and also travel across the country. Check their websites for their show schedule for when they might be in your area. Before you spend money be sure that they are not facsimile signatures. A lot of people mistaken facsimile signature which are printed on, as opposed to authentic hand signed signatures. If the signatures are signed with a felt pen for example, the ink will tend to be heavier at points where the pen started, stopped or slowed while signing. With facsimile signatures the ink will trend to be more uniform throughout. I will leave a link on this page to read more.
An autograph that is not authenticated by a creditable company could sell at half the market value or less. Two of the top, and most trusted authenticators are PSA/DNA, and James Spence Authentic (JSA). Collectors will pay more for signatures authenticated by either one. It may sound odd but in some cases PSA/DNA, and JSA authenticated signatures may sell higher than a Letter of authenticity from an unknown or less trusted authenticator that witnessed the signing even though PSA/DNA, and JSA did not. It's just a matter of collectors trust, and collectors will pay more for it. Check the respective websites Show Schedule to see if they will be in the area that you live. They also do business through the mail. I will leave a link below for both websites.
I don't believe you can, Owners, Drivers, etc. sign hundreds & hundreds of hats and shirts and hand them out to fans, that's over an above what they sign in the pits and by the fence. My sister-in-law does hats & shirts for several teams and has dozens of hats & shirts still in boxes many of which are signed and they are authentic. SORRY
Do what I did , I went to my driver's offical website where they sell autograph pictures, and bought one and was sent a COA along with it.
You would ideally need to have an expert in the field look at your memorabilia to determine authenticity and to get a valid certificate. Many sellers of sports related products sell items with valid certificates of authenticity. An example would be BigFlySports.com who specializes in high quality licensed memorabilia.

Sports fanatics often buy signed football shirts and get them framed. Framed football shirts adds value to the shirt and they can look nice in any room.
A jerry rice signed shirt/jersey is worth about $300-$1000, it all depends on the condition and if it is framed or not. And if you have it framed then make sure the frame is nice. It's not worth as much if the signature is faded. Make sure the autograph has a certificate of authenticity.
Hello, I work within the football memorabilia industry and have done so for over 15 years. I have assisted the auctions of many rare and valuable match worn shirts and player owned memorabilia. The value of your shirt depends on the authenticity that you can provide, basically you have to prove to the buyer/bidder that it is genuine. This is achieved through documentation such as a certificate of authenticity. But be careful as there are thousands of unscrupulous people out there who sell such items that are described as match worn or signed but in fact are not. They simply devise these spoof certificates on their own computers based on lies and fraud, then when investigated proven to be void and thus lessening the value of your shirt from genuine to fake. Should you have a genuine COA (signed by a credible auction house, coded by the shirt manufacturer, signed by a player or club representative, hold a letter from the player who signed/wore the shirt) then you have a product that holds value. Presuming that you have such a COA your shirt would be valued at £800-£1200 match worn by Beckham in the final, £400-£700 match issued to Beckham for the final, and £200-£400 if it is a replica shirt. If you don't have a credible COA then the value would be a great deal less. Hope you find this helpful. Graham.
If the shirt is match worn by Beckham with a credible cerificate of authenticity (CoA) then it is worth £500-£800. If it is only a replica shirt then £150-£250 (if you have a CoA or photo of them with the shirt).

The value for a fully signed Real Madrid shirt from 03-04 will depend on who signed the shirt and the rarity and conditon of the shirt. A person should have the item appraised by a professional for the true value.
Yes. Football shirts can be recycled like most items of clothing can. However, if you are not going to wear your football shirt you may want to think about getting it signed and framed and it could be worth something in a number of years time.
It depends on the shirt (t-shirt, replica jersey, authentic jersey, etc.), it's condition and who signed it.
throw your shirt in the bin
2 years ago I sold a Bristol City shirt for £250. It was the shirt that was worn when we played Brentford in the Play Offs when John Ward was manager and the shirt had been signed by all the team
