What is the average number of Christmas lights on a Christmas tree?

100 per foot. For example a six foot tree would have 600 mini lights. Of course, if you're using a larger light such as c7 this number would be divided in half.

If you have a 1900 square feet house one and a half stories how many Christmas lights would you need?

That depends on how many lights you wish to put on your house. Some people enjoy decorating their houses with a lot of lights, others prefer to go for a more subtle celebration and decoration. It is up to you.

Are LED Christmas lights better than traditional ones?

LED lights are better depending on what you want. Unlike traditional lights, if one goes out, the whole strand (or half a strand) doesn't go out. In that way they're good. The only bad thing, though, is that they do not yet come in as many colors as traditional ones do.

Mersenne's Law says the frequency of a vibrating string is inversely proportional to the square root of the mass per unit length but why not simply to the mass per unit length?

Why not? Not to be overly terse . . . because it's NOT inversely proportional to the mass per unit length. It's inversely proportional to the SQUARE ROOT of the MPUL. If the fundamental frequency of a string were inversely proportional to its MPUL, then doubling the MPUL of the string would cut the fundamental frequency in half (that is, reduce it 50 percent). But we know from observation and analysis that that is not the case. If we double the MPUL of the string, then the fundamental frequency is reduced by about 29 percent, not 50 percent. To reduce the fundamental frequency of the string by half, we would have to quadruple the MPUL of the string!

What will cause half of a string of series parallel wired lights to go out-Outage is on first half from the power plug to the middle of the string- Lights are on from the middle to the end of string?

One of the lights in the string that isn't working is faulty. Try replacing them one by one. Turn the power off each time you change a light.

Why would only half a string of LED Christmas lights work?

You could have a bad bulb or loose bulb. Check out the reference page I am giving you.

What determines the number of half wavelenghts that fit into the length of the string?

Suppose the wavelength is 4 metres. Then the half-wavelength is 2 metres. Suppose the string is 10 metres. Then you can fit 5 half-wavelengths on it. Easy enough?

Where are the notes on a viola?

The lowest (thickest) string on the viola is the C string. When played without any fingers down, it is a C. One half step up is C#, another half-step up is D, then D#, then E, then F, F#, and G. This G is the exact same G as the open G string, the next string up. Each notes goes up by a half step until you reach D, which is the next open string, and then finally A, which is the highest string.
