are you sure that your iPod is broken and its not just a blown out speaker? i suggest that you plug in someone else's earphones and try it. if it is till coming out of one earphone then take it to bestbuy or apple. they will usually fix stuff like that for free if you just act like youre really angry about it and argue if they say no.
you should try replacing your headphones before jumping to such expensive conclusion
Any single iPod only has one jack slot, so only one pair of headphones can fit into an iPod at one time.
you hear only that channel in the headphone output
The only way is to get an external mic on the headphone (3gen or lower) and get Skype.
Only 3rd generation and newer iPod touches have the speakers.
Well if your computer doesnt have a built in speaker system, you can only use headphones or buds to hear it, unless you buy a speaker system that you can plug in.
Yes, they all use the same 30 pin dock connector, the only one you can't use is the iPod Shuffle charger because it's completely different as it uses the headphone port to charge.
Yes, you can charge an iPod Touch from an outlet at your house. You must first go to the Apple Store (or their website). Then, find a wall outlet-to-iPod Touch connection slot made specifically by Apple for your iPod Touch. Then, buy it (which is usually around $29.99, excluding tax and price rises or drops), and it should work.
Make sure the headphone jack is all of the way in the slot. If it is only halfway in, then that is your problem. If that didn't fix the problem, then the earphones are broken and you may need to buy new ones.
it only has one headphone jack, but you can use a splitter.
I have an iPod touch 1st gen. Im gettign the same problum.
The only software you need to support headphone is driver for your audio/sound card what you get with your motherboard. If you lost that you can download from internet.
you can only put a password on a iPod Touch only. (in the ipod family)
