it is directly below the ash tray ..under the dash..it will or should be white...with the car running.. look under this area..and turn the ac/heat knob slowly..you will see a white square box..with a metal guide going up/or down when you adjust the knob..this is the motor...if it does not move ..be sure the wire harness going to it is connected ..if it does not still move it is bad..if you have no heat..the blend door inside the ac/heat box may be damaged/broken off..or your heater core is bad..

Where is and how do I check Blend door on my dodge ram 1996?

The blend door actuator motor is located on the bottom of the plenum box on the passenger side towards the transmission tunnel. It is easy to remove and examine the motor to blend door connection. The blend door on the Ram is made of metal and seldom breaks. The problem is more likely the plastic interposer that spans between the metal drive motor connection the the metal axle. Check Ebay listings for HeaterTreater to find the Ram and a 100% solution and more diagnostic information.

How do you find the blend door on a ram 1500?

The blend door on the 1500 is on a vertical axis and the actuator motor is located on the bottom of the heater box. You can locate the motor under the passenger side dash. If you remove the motor, you will see a black interposer that connects the metal motor drive to the metal blend door axle. You can pull this interposer down with your fingers or a pair of pliers and examine it for cracks or total failure. The most common blend door fail on these models is for this cheap plastic piece to break. HeaterTreater is the world's leader in aftermarket blend door products and there is a stainless steel replacement interposer available for the 1500. Additional diagnostic information and pictures are available on the HeaterTreater Ram 1500 listing or the web site at www.heatertreater.net cgallen

Where is the blend door on a Ford Ranger?

The blend door sits vertically in the heater box behind the glove box. If you fully open the glove box, you can see the actuator motor on top of the heater box in the upper left hand corner. On the bottom of the box is a "pedestal" that is the bottom axle point for the blend door. The door axis is between the motor axle and the pedestal. If you are having issues with a Ford Ranger blend door, you can find diagnostic procedures with pictures and a cheap easy solution to the problem at HeaterTreater www.heatertreater.net, or follow the Google ads on this site. cgallen

Where can you find the heater control valve for the forward heater on a 1999 expedition?

If you have the 4.6 liter expedition then you dont have a heater control valve. The problem stems from a bad blend door motor or the blend door is broken where it mates with the blend door motor. Blend door motor is located under dash board behind the center counsel. Its white in color and has a plug with 3 wires. The problem is most likely with the plastic blend door itself. The same plenum box is used on the Expedition/Navigator/F150 and you can find information on the common problem on any of these models. There is a video on YouTube showing how to diagnose and repair the system. The actuator motor is hard to get to on the Expedition, but once you get to it, the full repair for the blend door and actuator is within the capability of most shade tree mechanics. This is an expensive repair at the dealer or any garage, so a little investigation of DIY methods may be useful. Check links through my bio page as a starting point.

Were do you find the temperature control unit on a 1999 ford expedition?

To answer your question are you referring to your A/C and Heating temperature control unit? The temperature control which is next to the A/C control knob which you adjust the temperature from cold to hot? When you adjust it between cold and hot it opens a blend door via blend door motor to get the desired temperature.

Is the blend door actuator on your 2000 venture the reason you are getting no airflow out of the front AC even when it is on high speed?

No. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/FAQ/3330heblend door only controls the temperature of the air. the airflow depends on the blower motor. So if there is no airflow then you need to find out why your blower motor isn't working.

How do you repair the 1997 f150 blend door?

When my 97 Ford Explorer blend door failed I searched the internet and found a simple but slightly difficult way around the problem. First NAPA sells the blend door assembly it's about $20.00, it is a standard product. 1. First determine if the blend door motor is working. It is a very slim 5/8" thick X 3 X 5 box on top of the AC plenum box behind the glove box. Glove box must be removed. There is a small cable plug into the side of the motor, disconnect it. Next pry up the motor off of its 4 posts, there is about 3/4" clearance above the motor. Once the motor is out plug it back into the cable plug, start the truck and move the temperature control. The drive connector on the under side should turn as you adjust the temperature control, if not the motor is bad. 2. If the motor runs and stops at a position it is OK. Next thing to do is buy the blend door kit. For me to fit under the dash I removed the front seat so I could lay down on my back to see the bottom of the AC/Heater plenum box. Load up your Dremel with a thin saw blade or grinding wheel. Next mark out a triangle shape on the bottom of the housing. Notice the boss where the blend door bottom shaft sits into. You must cut alongside the boss and then forward toward the fire wall. The triangle shape with boss will be used again so go slow! Once you complete the cutout the door will come out of the bottom of the housing. 3. What you should find next is the drive connector splines that has been broken from the drive motor connector. The blend door shaft splines are the problem. Next install the motor back on it's posts, insert the new door up through the bottom of the plenum, locate the spline connector and push the door upward. NOTE: I found the door installation easier to run the motor to the either extreme before installing the door. It's easier to position the door and it will assure you the motor will not over torque the spline connection if the door jams to the stop and the keeps running! 4. Install the plastic triangle you cut out, be sure the door bottom shaft is in the socket, use a few small pieces of duct tape to hold the assembly together. Test the control and door operation. If everything is working, silicone caulk the joint to seal the plenum, wait until the caulk is dried, remove the tape and finish the caulk. If you can get through this repair you will save yourself about $600. So for $20 and a few hours of labor it worked for me.
