There is at present no cure for Arthritis. There are treatments and in some cases exercises that slow or make the disease easier to live with, however, There is also some promising work happening in the US, Australia and Britain with stem cell work where damaged bone cartilage and ligament is being grown to repair damaged joints. They are up to the human testing stage in Australia after having had very encouraging results in sheep.

you cant treat the actual arthritis. If it is in hip joints it is most likely to be osteoarthritis for which there is no cure and only pain killers and antiinfamatorys are likely to relieve suffering. The careful strengthening of muscles to help support the joints could offer temporary relief or else there is the option of replacing the joint with a prosthesis.

Either take a simple analgesic which is simply a pain killer or if there is evidence of inflammation an inflammatory of some kind.

Could someone give me some ideas about the constant pain i feel in my left hip It is not excruciating just a dull pain sometimes it spreads to my knee I am only 25 not overweight or unwell?

You may be having an arthritic problem. Arthritis is not limited to older people and you may be having a problem with the hip joint for one reason or another. The only way to find out is to see your doctor and get it x rayed etc. If You are in Australia you would be best of seeing your GP who will probably send you out for x rays. from there he may have to refer you to a specialist like a rheumatologist to sort the problem out further. what ever you do however get it checked out it will save you a lot of unnecessary pain.
