To connect multiple routers in PacketTracer 5.2, first select the "routers" section in the bottom left hand corner. From there, you can drag two routers from the pane to the right onto the working area (the large white space on your screen). Once both routers are on the screen, click "connections" (the lightning bolt) in the lower left, and click on "Automatically choose connection type" (the first one) OR "Copper crossover" (the fourth one). You will get a cursor that looks somewhat like a taser gun. Click once on each router, and you will see a cable created between them with a red dot on either end. You can now configure and power on both routers, and they will be able to communicate.

Be sure when configuring both routers that you go into the Interface section and check that at least one FastEthernet port is set as "ON", so that the routers can communicate.

To connect multiple routers in Packet Tracer use the router menu. Set it up to automatically choose a connection type. Finally click on each router one wants to set up and a red line will connect them. The routers are now able to be configured.

This depends on the scenario [Type of Router, distance between each Router, type of connection used - Physical or Logical, arrangement of Routers, Features wanted from the Router].

The best design practice to physically connect 3 Routers is to have a "Switch" [Example: 3560-PS] in between them [Interconnecting them]. Other than that, if you had say, 1803 Modular Routers, you can just connect the 3 Routers together with a "Crossover Cable", and enabling routing on the built-in "Switchports".
