How do you close a salt chlorinated pool if before the salt chlorine generator you would shock the pool and add algaecide but you have never had to do this with the salt system?
the same as before. whoever told you that you didnt have to shock and use algaecide lied. Answer the same as before. whoever told you that you didnt have to shock and use algaecide lied.

It would be fine to add chlorine, but do it in each corner of the pool. You will not do any harm to the system. Make sure your pool water is balanced. This requires a good pro…per kit like they use at the pool shops, or have it tested at a computerized pool teting centre. The old large kit that tests for acid levels around 4"x6" is the size of the blue plastic box and roughly 80-100 dollars. a little more salt than not enough is always better. Regards, Peter
Salt water pools are very nice . Yes. A chlorine generator will only work when your pool water has a salinity level of 2700 to 3500 ppm, thereby making it a salt water poo…l.
Answer . YES
Most pool shops carry it and some department stores and hardwares
Do you have a system installed at the equipment pad that willconvert the salt to chlorine? If not, then NO!.
What should be done if your Pool Service treats your salt water pool as a Chlorinated pool and adds chlorine shock to your salt water pool by mistake?
Get over it. He made a mistake. You may point it out to him nicely of course. BTW it does not hurt or he may have felt that the pool needed it. BTW there is a mode in the salt… system to shock the pool thru the system. precipitation
You can add algaecide to a salt water pool just make sure that you are allowed to use the type of algaecide you have in mind chlorinators don't necessarily agree with metal ba…sed algaecides.
Yes. The salt is run through a chlorinator that changes the salt to chlorine. It won't do it by itself so you have to buy the generator to do this.
there is a specified range that salt should be. If too much salt was put in the only way to decrease the ppm reading would be to drain water from the pool and refill..
Don't be confused, all a salt system does is perpetually produce chlorine, you still have chlorine in your pool. The advantage is you don't have to go to the pool shop and …buy chlorine to add on a regular basis. And if you think about the chlorine level when you, on a weekly basis, add 10L of chlorine. When you do that the chlorine level spikes then fades away until next time. That spike is hard on every part of your pool. With a salt system there is no large spike as it's making little bits of chlorine every few minutes. What you have to be cautious about with a salt system is that it's not maintenance free. You still have to make sure the rest of your water chemistry is on par. AND you can't just put the system on, set it to 100% and walk away. In most cases you can set the system to 20-30% production and that is more then enough!
\nYes, just install the chlorine generator and add the salt. Your new system will replace the need for residual chlorine.
Normally the salt/chlorine generator creates the chlorine as the system is running. This is accomplished by the chlorine unit sending a low voltage charge of electricity int…o the water as it flows through the inline unit and makes contact with the fins inside. When this occurs a separation takes place of the salt(sodium chloride) and the chlorine is then free to sanitize the water. The sodium is still in the water suspended for awhile and then reconnects with the leftover chlorine to be recycled through the system again and again.
it has electrodes that breaks down a piece of salt to produce chlorine. Jandy, Hayward, and Pool Pilot make good ones.
Yes as a mater of fact that is what salt water pool normally is. With a salt water pool there is a electronic salt water chlorinator installed that uses the salt in the water …to create chlorine. However if you don't have a salt water chlorinator and prefer the feeling of a salt water pool then there is no reason not to add salt to the pool as well as keeping up the chlorine yourself.
That depends on the size of your pool and the level of salt your chlorine generator needs to properly function (usually 3200-3400ppm). If you do not have a quality salt test, …I recommend bringing a sample of your water to a local pool store to be tested. Bring your chlorine generator's manual with you and they will help you find where it shows how much salt to add. If your pool has been low on chlorine for more than a day or two, or if the water is cloudy or green, you will need to add some liquid chlorine to assist the chlorine generator in clearing it up.
How much salt do you add to a non salt water pool We do not have a true salt water system we have a chlorine pool but want to add salt can we do this and how?
40 lbs per 1000 gallons use pure water softener salt just pour it in the leave pump runing pool will start clearing up the first day salt will be gone over night . more is not… better do not exceed this formula it will not speed up this process. i have been using this formula for ten years with no problems
