∙ 7y agoYou must have it in a device that can connect to the computer and works with the SD card or if you have a slot on the PC or printer insert there click start-computer-removable disk and whichever letter pulls it up you can either format it or highlight everything and delete note if you delete it they will go to recycle bin on you computer remember to empty it if you don't want it.

The USB card readers cannot stop working from the write erase cycle because they only act as the medium between the SD card and the computer.

Most digital cameras do have a format function, however it only does what's called a quick erase. It erases only the File Allocation Table that points to the images' memory addresses. The images remain and can be recovered by any image recovery software. Even doing a format in Windows does not erase the images.To truly erase the images, you have to overwrite the card's memory with new data.
