You can clean a textbook by using a soft, dry cloth to wipe off dust and debris from the cover and pages. If there are stains, use a damp cloth with a small amount of mild soap and water to gently spot clean. Avoid using harsh chemicals or excessive water, as they can damage the book.

I have found that Goo Gone is great at removing almost anything from the covers of books and doesn't damage the book at all. I sell books online for a living and that is what I use. It takes off stickers and markings, such as pen/pencil/marker.

You can buy it at Home Depot or stores like that.

On soft cover books, it will leave a wet mark but when it dries, it leaves no marks or wrinkling. I promise!
