With the well sys on an up to pressure turn off the valves on the water main /turn off the power to the pump .there should be a pressure guage somewhere around the storage tank .if the press drops an keeps dropping you have a leak somewhere
ANS 2 - with the system ON and pump running as normal, uncap the well and listen carefully - if there's a leak down there you will almost always hear hissing or bubbling while the pump is running.

On well water, there is sometimes a reservoir that needs to refill. So if water stopped coming out of your tap, normally you just have to wait till it refills. IF YOUR PUMP IS RUNNING & NO WATER YOU COULD HAVE A LEAK IN LINE FROM WELL TO PUMP.THE PUMP SHOULD PUMP UP PRESSURE & THEN LEAK BACK DOWN IN PRESSURE. I HAD THE VALVE GO BAD AT THE END OF LINE IN WELL & INSTEAD OF PULLING LINE FROM WELL, I INSTALLED A VALVE AT PUMP THAT LEAVES WATER FLOW FROM THE WELL, BUT DOES NOT ALLOW WATER TO LEAK BACK TO WELL. A SIMPLE FIX. FIRST, DID YOU TRY PRIMING THE PUMP BY FILLING WATER PUMP THROUGH THE PLUG ON THE PUMP & 2ND. ARE YOU SURE THE WELL IS NOT DRY. IF YOU PRIME THE PUMP WITH WATER & IT PUMPS NOW THE WELL WATER IS OK,BUT IF IT LEAKS DOWN & LOSES THE PRIME, THE FIX ABOVE WILL REMEDY THE PROBLEM.

It should have had an indication right on that line of how acceptable it is . Check with lab that did your test.

I would first check to ensure the pump is below the water level in the well. These pumps will pump air. If the pump (or foot valve) is below the water level, then I would check my pressure tank to make sure that it is not full of air.

Could be a few things, is it a small amount or a large amount? Check where it is coming from, when you remove the cap you are depressurizing it, I would check the hoses for small leaks that or the drain pin as well could be loose.

No, it is not. But the cost of labor is so high that is a good idea to do it as well. There are times when you need to do it though. Check how close you are to next timing belt change. See if water pump has any leaks. Check condition of the timing belt.

First check that you ave the correct level of water/antifreeze in your system. A Low level will cause this as well as lead to other more expensive damage. You might want to check your thermostat. and then also check the heater core to see if the hose is connected right and there are no leaks.
