use a ratchet on the tensioner to draw it back it will be tough note you must put on belt at the same time.yes it will take muscle but can be done in less then ten mins.most tensiners square hole you should be able to use 1/2" drive ratchet all by it self if no fit use other but Lincoln at least all my v8's use this size.if no tensiner with you will be able to see whether or not is stationary pulley then the alternator will slide in a bracket.
Disconnect the battery.Remove the serpentine belt.Take off the wires on the back of the alternator.Unbolt the alternator from the engine bracket.
what engine size? 2.0 soc does not have serpentine belts, has 2 serpentine timng belts. need engine size to help more.
The belt tensioner on a Lincoln Towncar is designed to provide constant pressure on the serpentine belt. It is positioned on the front of the engine, near the alternator.
I don't have the exact car model diagram but try this http://www.gti-vr6.net/library/engine/repl_serpentine_belt_NEW.html
Absoultly not.
What size engine do you have?
what engine?
remove belts idler is to close to fire wall to come off after you remove nut.jack up car and put stands under.how put a jack under engine . remove top motor mount bolt and jack engine up this will give you the room to change idler pully.
Almost every car ever will not start without a serpentine belt. The serpentine bell acts similarly to a pulley. It's movement causes everything else to rotate and move. If you look at an engine, there's a number of circular shapes where the serpentine belt goes. It uses traction to rotate them.
Put the serpentine belt on to the pulleys of your 1994 Chevy engine. Tighten a serpentine belt with the tensioner pulley.
Very carefully.
if this is a diesel, it is the easiest water pump to change remove serpentine belt remove water pump. install new pump reinstall serpentine belt pump is on front of engine just left of fan as you stand in front and look at engine
