Jack up car and support the engine, there is a place under there that says put wood block here, don't let all the weight rest on this block though.Use tool to take tension off belt, fits in square hole on belt tensioner. Now you can loosen the motor mount right in the middle of the sepentine belt on the V6. Take off old belt put on new belt, redo/torque motor mount, put new belt on pulleys and tensioner, remove wood block.
You will waste time with the block and floor jack method!!! Read completely first!
This is easier and faster....First loosen only the LEFT BACK BOLT ONLY " ONE " engine motor mount bolt and remove it out completely - then turn the bolt back in 3 to 4 turns making sure enough bolt threading can support engine - next take out the RIGHT FRONT BOLT COMPLETELY to lower the engine. NOW - work and slide / position belt through the gap making sure belt rest centered between front and back bolt patterns. Next put RIGHT FRONT BOLT back in and tighten till resting on mount with gap still in place and enough bolt threading to support engine - NOW COMPLETELY REMOVE LEFT BACK BOLT ONLY and pull / work belt through - PRESTO! Put both bolts back in and tighten and cut off old belt and be careful not to get hit by the tensioner.
Now if you are ( I'll be Back - Dude ) Arnold Sw-ger? - This is easy for you! -- adjust tensioner with one arm and install belt. Please be sure first the new belt will be positioned through in proper convention.
Easiest way....
The belt will not fit between the motor mount. Easiest way is to jack the car up and put a cinder block under the motor and lower the jack down until the motor rests on the cinder block. Remove the motor mount and use a 3/8 ratchet to release the tension on the belt. There is a square hole on the tensioner pulley that the ratchet fits in.
