How do you change the fan belt on a 1994 Jeep Wrangler YJ?
If you have a 2.5 engine, the easiest way is to take off the two 15mm alt bolts. that gives you the room, then just take a pry bar or large screwdriver to shift the alt into place while tapping the bolt into the space

I believe there is no relay in the 94 YJ.... the power is regulated throught the switch.
loosen the alternator and it will slide right off Check 2carpros.com for a belt routing diagram.
Answer . Yes, the YJ was made in 1996.. Answer . No, the YJ,s ended in 1995. i read on another jeep website 1995 was the last year they were made.a 1996 YJ is a leftov…er 1995. THERE WAS NO YJ OR TJ IN 1996- THERE WAS NO WRANGLER IN 1996. THERE AIN'T NO SUCH THING AS A 1996 WRANGLER.. THE LAST YJ WAS THE 1995 MODEL. THE FIRST TJ WAS A 1997 MODEL. AGAIN NO SUCH THING AS A 1996 WRANGLER !!!!!!!!!!
Answer . \nFirst, there should be a diagram of the serpentine belt and pulley system on the top of the radiator fan cowling. If there is not, make one b/4 you remove your…s--just draw the pulley arrangement first. Then examine how the belt comes off the pulley, draw the "weave" pattern of the belt through the pulleys and double check one last time. At this point, you can cut the belt off or take one last opportunity to examine the pattern as you remove/slide the belt off by relieving the belt tension using the tension adjustment bolt behind the power steering pump.
Answer . \nIn my 95 I took of the air cleaner box. It is only held down by a couple of latches. You will see an adjust bolt facing toward the drivers side wheel well. You …will need to first loosen the three (I think) bolts that hold the power steering pump on. Just loosen dont take them off. Then just turn the adjust bolt until the belt is tight. Retighten the bolts on the pump. Your done.
The power steering pump is movable to tension the belt. There are 3 or 4 cap screws to loosen and an adjustment bolt under the pump to tighten or loosen the belt.Hard to descri…be but easy to see and understand if you remove the air filter box.(easy to remove)
Answer . \nget the correct belt from the parts store. either buy or find a tenionsor tool. most parts store carry them. pretty cheap. get a piece of paper and diagram t…he path of the belt before you remove it. several pictures with a digital camera can help. find the tenionsoor pulley. use the tool to releive the pressure on the belt. slowly remove the belt. use the diagram to replace the belt. without the diagram you can end up standing there scratching your head. some vehicles have the diagram printed inside the engine compartment, somewhere around the radiator cover. hope it helps duboff
Answer . The elctrics simply slide off it you pull the entire plastic cap away from the engine. The rest is basically unbolting and bolting on a new unit.
The front axle shift motor will not engage if: A. No power / bag grounding or the more likely failure is B. No Vacuum (4wd will not engage unless vacuum line going to… the module is working properly) check/replace vacuum hose
There could be many reasons, but you should start with this simple test that requires two people. \n. \n1. Start the vehicle.\n2. Set the emergency brake and put the transmis…sion in PARK (for automatics) or NEUTRAL (for manuals).\n3. Remove the vacuum plugs from the shift motor. You should be able to feel vacuum suction from one of the holes.\n4. Put the transfer case into 4WD. The vacuum suction should switch to the other hole. If it doesn't, then you have a vacuum leak somewhere. Check the lines for a leak. If suction does switch to the other hole, then the problem lies within the shift motor. The shift motor is a *very* simple mechanism so it's unlikely some is broken inside. More than likely it will be "gummed up" from old oil or any number of reasons. Remove it (4 small bolts) and clean it up, but before you re-install it, connect the vacuum lines to it and shift the transfer case in and out of 4WD to see that the forks slide left and right. www.wrangleryj.com is a site dedicated only to the 1987-95 Jeep Wrangler YJ.
no there is not, this motor uses a closed crankcase ventilation system (ccv tube)x2. one goes from the top of the air-box (fresh air inlet) to the back of your valve cover, th…is lets fresh air into the crankcase. the second tube goes from the front of the valve cover to the intake manifold. hope this helps.
It is located on the transmission.. You can bypass it but be carefull because the vehicle will start up in gear.
On the power-steering bracket, you'll see a bolt going into it vertically from about the 11 o'clock position. this bolt is very long, but you may not be able to tell. loosen t…his bolt and back the PS pulley bolt out a few turns and everything will go slack, allowing belt replacement.
Nope Sorry. My dad ttried that. It was to small. But if you get the elastic kind it might work.
Drain radiator, remove both top and bottom radiator hoses. On the back side you will find 4 bolts to remove. You can take out the fan first to remove radiator and fan shroud i…n one maneuver. Slide radiator up and out
