Within the US, if you plan on teaching at the college or university level, you have the minimum degree requirement although a doctorate is preferred. If you plan on teaching within the public school system pre-K through high school, you will have to obtain certification for the courses you are teaching. You can do this through the Alternate Route Program offered in all states (that I know of).
