First import the songs and add them to a playlist. Then you'll need to go online and copy the picture you want. (Ya know, right click and click copy.) Next go to your iTunes and get onto the playlist. Find the song in your playlist. There's a bar on the bottom left side of your screen with an up arrow I think. Click on it and there will be a "cut out" little thingy that says "Drag Album Artwork Here". Right click it and a little paste thingy will come up. If it doesn't, go back and recopy the picture.
When in iTunes, right click on the song/s that you want to add an album artwork to. Then click on Find info. Then go to the tab: Album Artwork. Then click on Add. Then search through your files to find the album artwork that youwant to add to the song/s.
Those "pictures" are specifically named "Album Artwork." When you buy a song from iTunes, the album artwork comes with it. But you can change the artwork and also add it if your song doesn't have it. (You can actually use any picture you want when you do this.) Make sure the album artwork is saved as a picture file on your computer. Once iTunes is opened, right-click on the song you want to add artwork too. Click on the tab that says "Artwork." Then click "Add" (if you are adding the artwork) or "Change" (if you are changing the artwork) and then you will open up a browse window. Find the picture you want and select it. Then once it appears, click "OK" and then the artwork is now added and will show when you play that song on your iPod.
Album artwork is already on items purchased from iTunes. To do it manually, right-click on a song and go to "Get Info." Click on the tab that says album artwork and then you can add the album artwork photo from your computer. You have to save the photo as an image file onto your computer in order for it to be put onto the song. But you don't need to save the photo in your computer's memory.

Both. If you have a single on your iPod you could put the single artwork on it. Or if you have an album on there, you can put album artwork on it. But putting both on a single sometimes doesn't work. (A ten-year-old answered this)
