Traditionally the Amazon was called the "lungs of the Earth" but this is not entirely true. There are many other plants and the biomes which they live in--Boreal Forest being the largest and most significant one--that act as the "lungs of the Earth." So what happens to the Amazon may affect us in different ways, environmentally or economically.
a common name for a rainforests it the 'Earth's lungs' ... basically without these huge rainforests we would have less oxygen and more CO2 causing the climate to change dramatically and less oxygen on Earth... rainforests are very important to living organisms, and many animals habitat are rainforests... without rainforests many animals would become extinct :) hope this helps

The Amazon rainforest is in danger because if the forest will be cut down the animals will be affected, there is very rare animals living in the Amazon rainforest. Also the environment, everyone goes on about climate change and how bad it is. Cutting down a rainforest will affect the weather. Also the tourism will be affected when I went we got someone that lived near to guide us around the Amazon Rainforest, we payed them.
