The humans hear sounds using their ears. When sound waves enter the ear they go through a process making the sound waves translated from vibrations to meaningful explanations and of course the process requires the help of the brain to translate every sound we hear.
Sound waves hit the eardrum and cause it to vibrate, those vibrations travel through the inner ear through a series of small bones and nerve endings that send those signals to the brain.
yes people absorb sound. anything actually, except for a vacuum, which sound vibrations cannot travel through.
Actually, sound travels faster in water than in air.
No............... it rather refracts the sound proportionally to its density..............
Infact, sound can actually travel faster in water than in air , due to its viscosity.
no but monkeys and snakes do
Both whales and elephants can hear extremely low frequency sounds.
The sounds animals can hear is based on the frequency that the certain animal can hear. For example, dog's can hear at much higher frequencies then humans can, so if a sound is made that is above our capability of hearing, we will not hear the sound, but the dog will.
Elephants, fish, bats, dolphins, and newborn babys can hear the sounds.
Dogs can hear extremely quiet sounds. Another animal that is capable of hearing sounds inaudible to humans are dolphins and bats.
yes, animals hear thousands of high pitched noises that we cant hear at all. hope this helps :)

No. There is a frequency range in which people can hear. Very high frequency or low frequency sounds are inaudible to us, but can be heard by some other creatures, like dogs for example.
They hear sounds in the same way that humans do.
Deaf people are people that can not hear any sounds at all due to a medical problem.
(Talking in a British accent here) You hear boats docking, and or mailmen, people, usually things you hear anywhere :)
Pleasant sounds are nice to hear and unpleasant sounds are not nice to hear.
