Well first of all Finland has four seasons that are very distinctive from one another. Summer can be warm and dry (dryness makes the heat over hotter). In July you can wear short and t-shirt. Winters can be cold and relentless, you should be prepared to dress lot of warm clothing, including mittens and a cap. Springs are usually bit warm and the ground is often wet. Fall can be cold, especially because of cold winds.
So wear whatever you please, but be aware of the CURRENT weather and your own limitations.

1) Finnish pupils don't have school uniforms. So that's out of the question.
2) From October to April, at least, it's too cold to spend time outside without a jacket. Especially during the winter, the Finnish look is warm winter clothes coupled with scarves and woolly hats and warm mittens. No fashionable mini skirts for these kids during the winter!
