Most times when a guy is being mean to a girl it is usually because she is making him 'feel' some emotion that he does not want to feel, therefore he repels that emotion by being mean. Girls feel the need to have guys around because girls like to know that they have that special someone around and girls like to feel their guy's arm around them reassuring them that everything is going to be alright.
