Bedbug form after bedbug nymphs hatch out of eggs laid by female bedbugs. Bedbug eggs which look like a grain of salt ;aid on hard surfaces stick to the surface and so may be unwittingly brought into a home in second hand beds or furniture bought or in clothing. When the eggs hatch the nymph is able to detect the breath of any person sleeping. It will be attracted to the sauce of that breath, that is to the bed in which somebody is asleep. It will climb up to that bed and find the sleeping person and have its first meal by sipping the blood of the person asleep in that bed After its meal it will find a hiding place close to the sleeper, which may be in the bed such as in a fold or crevice in the mattress or somewhere nearby such as in furniture near the bed. It will then come out again for more meals over next few weeks and after each meal it sheds its skin and grows om size. After five skin shedding after meals it will have become an adult bedbug and ot can then breed to create more bedbug so in time females lay more eggs in or near that bed so when they hatch causing a bedbug infestation of that person's bed. That is how they form in beds.

They spread in various ways. They may first get into your home either if you bring in some second hand furniture with live bedbugs or else unhatched bedbug eggs inside, or when you come back from holiday a bedbug may have laid eggs in your luggage or clothing, perhaps in your holiday hotel bedroom or in the aircraft hold you came home in, or they may come into your home from next door or adjacent apartments. So you may start with just a few bedbugs in the house. Once you have just one male and one female in your home, then that is all that is necessary for them to start multiplying. The female will lay about a dozen or more eggs per day. The eggs hatch within a few days producing nymphs who after going through five moults, with a blood meal off somebody after each, the nymph will have become an adult bedbug. So the females will lay new eggs, more nymphs will be born etc.. So the person sleeping in each bed in the home is likely to get bitten more and more each night to provide meals for increasing numbers of bedbugs. Bedbugs having become established in one bedroom may then migrate into another bedroom and so gradually spread around the house. When it starts getting crowded in that home, some bedbugs may migrate to nearby homes by crawling through piping or under walls or doors, so becoming a factor there. You may also transfer them with you, say from bedbugs laying eggs in your shoes or your clothing during the night which you take with you when you go to visit friends or go to work.

The bedbug's body has a hard shell that doesn't grow. When the bedbug grows it sheds it's shell, which is also why you can find light shells along with the dark spots (the poo/your blood).

Distinguishing Between Bed Bugs And Lice?

When dealing with bed lice, it is necessary to distinguish between bed bugs and body lice for proper extermination. Bed bugs are brown in color, and body lice are transparent but turn into a brown color after filling up with human blood. Bed bugs and body lice are both parasites that feed on human blood. Bed bugs are bigger than body lice and, if numerous, can spread a foul odor through a room. Bed bugs leave multiple small bite marks that may or may not cause itchiness. Body lice leave one small bite that do cause itches in most people.
