A Schwann cell is a particular type of neuroglial cell, found only in the peripheral nervous system. Schwann cells produce the myelin sheath, which insulates the axons of bodily nerves, increasing the signal velocity.
The astrocytes differ from schawann cells becuase they provide nutrition and support fo neurons instead of just providing insulation like schwann cells.
