If you have a USB 2.0 the tranfers rate will be about 480Mbps, where as USB 1.1 is only around 12Mbps.

If speed isn't the issue there is no problem as all USB standards are backward compatible and still operate even if it is at 12Mbps.

Anything that says Hi Speed USB will be a 2.0.

Is the ps3 mpn 98015 backwards compatible?

Look at the Model are there 4 USB ports or only 2 if it is like most models it has 2 and is not backward compatible. If it has 4 USB and is 60 GB it is the best PS3 model because it has hardware to play the PS2 games and the other model has software and hardware and came later and is 80 G. There is also a 20 GB model that does not have WiFi but is as good as the 60 GB for the other hardware. Also you are not giving the model number, maybe it is a serial number you are giving or something else

Maximum cable length using 20-gauge twisted-pair shielded cable between two full speed USB devices?

5 Meters or about 16.4 feet for a standard single cable. Lengths can be increased by using repeaters like the ones built into USB Hubs up to a maximum of 5 (82ft), or by using USB Extenders which use CAT5 cable which allow a distance of 160 ft. (50M.). There are also cables that are 36' (11M) USB 2.0 with built in Booster/repeaters available through cableguyusa.com (item 601-706-36-silver-act) or walmart.com (Tripp Lite 36')

What is the difference between USB 2.0 and 3.0?

as far as i can tell its just for all practical purposes nothing but the price ...... there is some technical mumbo jumbo ....(see below) but unless your cable runs are reaching toward maximum....why bother??? "The maximum length of a standard USB cable is 5.0 meters (16.4 ft). The primary reason for this limit is the maximum allowed round-trip delay of about 1500 ns. If a USB device does not answer to host commands within the allowed time, the host considers the command to be lost. When USB device response time, delays from using the maximum number of hubs and delays from cables connecting the hubs, host and device are summed, the maximum delay caused by a single cable turns out to be 26 ns [10]. The USB 2.0 specification states that the cable delay must be less than 5.2 ns per meter, which means that maximum length USB cable is 5 meters long. However, this is also very close to the maximum possible length when using a standard copper cable." from wikipedia The difference between USB1 and USB 2 is that the USB 2 is shielded (like TV coaxial cable) to prevent signal loss between computer and printer. Look for a printer cable that is clear with the shielding visible.

Can you drive a 1986 Toyota 4Runner with hubs in lock position but not engaged in 4x4 mode?

Yes you can. Its actually good to do so once in a while to keep the hubs lubricated. 10 or 20 miles every few months should do the trick. I used mine for offroading, and I would simply lock in the hubs at the start of a trail and just engage the 4x4 when I needed it.

Which ps3's read PS2 games?

Older PS3 Models with 4 USB ports will play PS2 games as seen on related PlayStation network link. All PS3 models with only 2 USB ports can not play PS2 games and there are no updates, downloads or additional hardware or cables that will allow them to play PS2 games. All models of PS3 can play PS1 games with software emulation.
