The first Bratz commercials always showed scenes of the Bratz' 2D animations(done by the incredible David Vandervoort, also known for esurance fame) in the real world, hanging out with real teenagers (Yasmin was known for flicking a guy's necklace into his face.). The first Bratz commercial showed the Bratz shopping in the mall, the second one featured them strutting down the halls at school and partying at a beach party (for the 2nd Edition/Flaunt It! dolls and Beach Party collections). The Funk 'N' Glow commercial showed the Bratz partying at a club, and driving their flashy new FM Cruiser. MGA has incorporated this feature into many commercials since then, but not in every commercial like they used to.
The older commercials (2001-2005) also incorporated the word Bratz into the songs (for instance, a line from the Stylin' Salon 'N' Spa commercial from 2002 was "Gettin' ready for tonight, the girls are doin' it right, "BA-RATZ!"). Alot of the time, when the "BA-RATZ!" sound was played, a picture of the logo shining and surrounded by twinkling stars over a blue background was shown.
Alot of the time, the songs said the name of the characters in the collection as well, usually while showing the dolls standing (on either stars or their signature symbols) in different poses over the same blue background as the logo, displaying their mix & match outfits.
The dolls were also shown interacting with real teenagers as well. The first commercial showed the dolls trying on shoes, posing (on tables/displays obviously) next to the humans, etc. (all with their hands in plain sight, just in case of false advertisement charges ) The second one showed more trying on clothes, putting on sunglasses, packing beach towels, etc. (again with hands in plain sight)
