It became so popular because during the 1920s and so on, and during the Great Depression and World War 1 and such, it was usefull for a new standard in communication with your friends or communication in war but it was also sparked in regular citizens in the U.s and manyother places for leisure. Cause in that time, the radio didnt only broadcast news and music, but dramas, sitcoms, and music programs.

∙ 13y agoThe argument is a little off-spectrum. Radio is a form of energy, not matter, and does not have a Landscape- wave spectrum , certainly- the sound quality and fidelity of FM is superior to AM and always has been. FM is somewhat hampered by a limited reception range- all things have their cost. It is ideally suited to stereo broadcasting of music and is often used for this. AM music is generally Mono. FM is superior for music use, which is obvious and it drove some stations to change their format- the famous Music radio WABC 77 ( 770 KCY) is still up and running but is now a talk-only station with some exceptions for the Mark Simone (Oldies) program that unfortunately digresses into obsolete commercials (which can promote banned products like cigarettes) and discussions of Politics, Horror films, etc- waayy- Off Base!
