"...At least at the start, the Prunes were viewed as the frontrunners of the burgeoning West Coast psychedelic scene. Years later, the large number of copies of their album that became cheaply available in second-hand markets in the States led to them becoming a huge influence on garage punk bands of the 1970s such as the MC5 and The Stooges." The Electric Guitar allowed the Bluesman to accentuate his emotional outflow of music by letting him add Trills, Bends, Hammer-On's, and Pull-Off's to his work.

Distortion was also a large part in this evolution of the blues. It would, in time, create Rock and Roll music.

Which is better an electric guitar or a jazz guitar?

Well, it depends on what type of genre of music you want to play. The Electric Guitar works as a well instrument in many rock genres, including Classical Rock, Hard Rock, and Metal. However, a Jazz Guitar also has some cons and pros to! A Jazz Guitar can play Blues, Jazz, Classical Rock, mostly Oldies. However, a Jazz Guitar can not be as loud as a Electric Guitar. Depending on your type of genre, I would prefer an Electric Guitar, which could play almost all genres. Enjoy playing!

Is both the electric and the bass guitar used in rock music?

Yes. Just about every single rock band in the world has both. The guitar will always be used in rock. But the bass is just as important, because it fills in all the empty music space that the guitar can't. If it wasn't for the bass in a rock band, the music wouldn't be enjoyable at all when played live.
