Quebec was an important fort for the French, therefore it probably had a lot of supplies in it, which the British now had. Also, the French used the Saint Lawrence River a lot for trade and shipping. That river, which was below Quebec and Montreal, was now in England's control. This would have been a serious blow to the French.
