∙ 11y agoThe Dawes plan helped Germany payback war reparations to countries such as Great Britain and France, which in return paid their loans with interest to the US. For Germany to pay the others, the US lent money to Germany,which Germany used to fullfill its war reperations. This was able to control the excessive inflation or hyperinflation at the time, and unemployment in Germany. However, Germany missed a payment at one point, which destroyed the whole plan and the cycle and was a leading factor to causing the Great Depression.

This is an opinion question. Personally, I think the Dawes Plan was a very good idea. By bailing Germany out of its hyperinflation, the US gained a German market for American goods to get America's economy back in full gear.
