It started in the 1800's when a Persian merchant who went by the name 'the Bab' announced that he was a prophet of God who could change mankind's spiritual life. He said that eventually, a second prophet much greater than him, who we now know is Baha'u'llah, would come to Earth to bring peace and justice to its inhabitants. He is often compared to John the Baptist of Christianity. Baha'u'llah came from a wealthy Persian family who had a passion for helping the poor instead of enjoying his own wealth. One day while he was imprisoned in Tehran, God showed him a vision showing him his will for humanity. Baha'u'llah immediately started telling the world about his relationship with God and how he was the promised one that the Bab spoke of. Throughout his life, Baha'u'llah spent forty years in prison or being exiled, where he wrote more than 100 texts, which are now studied by Baha'is across the world today. He eventually died in Palestine in 1892.

It started by the Báb, and later Bahá'u'lláh, announcing that they had a message from God - that they were God's representative on Earth. Bahá'ís believe that both of them are God's Messengers, just as founders of previous religions (including Jesus Christ and Muhammad) were God's Messengers.

What is the bahai language?

Bahai is a religion, not a country or geographic area, nor does it represent an ethnic group. As a religion that believes in the unity of humankind, the Bahai beliefs are not restricted to any one language or language group. However, in the interests of engendering international unity, the Bahai Faith advocates the introduction of an international 'world' language. Even so, the religion has not said what language that should be, and, as yet, has not developed such a language for global use. In fact, their view is that such a language should be selected or created by the world's governments."It is incumbent upon all nations to appoint some men of understanding and erudition to convene a gathering and through joint consultation choose one language from among the varied existing languages, or create a new one, to be taught to the children in all the schools of the world." -Bahai quote, according to WikiPedia.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------See Related links below for more information.
