She grew up in a one-room cabin in the hamlet of Locust Ridge, TN. This is near Sevierville, TN. The cabin has been moved to Dollywood for preservation. However, it used to sit on Old Mountain Road. To get there from Sevierville, you take Dolly Parton Parkway to Old Newport Highway. This turns into Pittman Center Road (Old Newport Highway goes to the left). Pittman Center Road turns into Birds Creek Road (Pittman Center Road goes to the left). Turn on to Catons Chapel Road. This forks into Old Mountain road and Wiley Noland Road. The cabin used to be on the right. You can see the little stream at the back of the property where they used to get their water.
