How did Australia respond to the domino theory?
The domino theory was a foreign policy theory, promoted by the government of the United States, that speculated that if one land in a region came under the influence of communism, then the surrounding countries would follow in a domino effect. The domino effect suggests that some change, small in itself, will cause a similar change nearby, which then will cause another similar change, and so on in linear sequence, by analogy to a falling row of dominoes standing on end. The domino theory was used by successive United States administrations during the Cold War to justify American intervention around the world.

The domino theory refers to any chain of events set off by a singleevent. The Domino Theory is simple. One country falls to a foreigninfluence, in turn the country next to it… falls, and then that onecauses another country to fall etc. until all the countries in thearea have fallen. The example contributed above is the classic given for the DominoTheory. If you're wondering why it was related to the Cold War, itwas because the Soviet Union used this technique to get all thecountries in Europe to be communist, and they were successfulbecause no one would decline them because they were a world superpower and they knew they would be attacked if they did decline.
the idea that if a nation falls under communist control nearby nations will also fall under communist control
The fact is that the Domino Theory HAS worked fine and we are using it in our day to day accident prevention programmes. It is a grand theory which gives one the freedom to ad…opt a multi-pronged approach to accident prevention. For IMMEDIATE solutions, one needs to remedy the 'unsafe acts/unsafe' conditions. If there is greater determination, one tries to remedy the 'faults of persons' thro' safety education/training, or thro' psychological approaches, or by improving the work-environment. For best results, one needs to to go right up to the ancestry ( genetic/ congenital defects) and the social environment e.g. high road accidents are due to the fact that driving licences can be purchased ! and there is no thorough driving test or written test. This is a result of the social environment .Colour blindness can be remediedby retinal transplantation . Stem cell technology can help to remove several defecys. The Domino Theory is really a masterpiece and I adore it1 However, like any theory, it has a shortfall. It does not say anything about making the SYSTEM safe.. I have done quite a bit of study on this theory and am satisfied with it. Note that this answer is with respect to H.W.Heinrich's Domino Theory , and not Dwight Eisenhour's.. -- S. Saran
Dwight D. Eisenhower referred to the "domino theory", although he didn't use this expression, a news conference on April 7, 1954 in reference to Indochina. (reference Wikipedi…a)

The Americans were essentially worried that if Vietnam fell to the communists, then so would other Southeast Asian countries, just like a line of dominoes. The USA then steppe…d in to prevent South Vietnam from falling to the north.
See General Westmoreland's comments on that; statistics about the Vietnam War.

That communism was a monolithic force, out to dominate the whole world. We often labeled opponents communists who were really more nationalist.

Sadly, it was, but to a very limited extent. When the US pulled out of South Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos fell to the communists, but it did not spread much further. Thailand, M…alaysia, and other other Southeast Asia nations did not. So in that sense, the entire region did not fall, only the countries in the immediate vicinity of South Vietnam.
When one falls, all allied with it will fall also.
Communist rule in one country would lead to communism in itsneighbors.
