How do you check how happy your Pokemon is?

Either talk to Dr. footstep (in the house on the beach next to Pastoria City) or use the Poketch app Friendship Checker (talk to someone in Eterna City Pokemon center and they'll give you one).

Dr. Footstep will give a statement about the happiness of the first Pokemon in your party. If your Pokemon likes you a lot, he will award it a 'Footstep Ribbon'.

The Friendship Checker shows all Pokemon in your party floating around. To check happiness, hold the stylus on the Pokemon you want to check. Its happiness is expressed through the number of hearts above it:

If you place the styler on the touch screen and the Pokemon repels away from it it wants nothing to do with you. LOL. It pretty much hates your guts at the moment.

No hearts but still slowly comes to your styler - doesn't really like you but is becoming more fond of you.

one small heart - likes you a little

two small hearts - likes you a lot

Two big hearts - simply adores you darling!

NB: You will need to hold the sylus still for this to work. The hearts appear one after another so hold your stylus down for a few seconds to see if more hearts appear.

There are certain people that tell you if your Pokemon like you are not in each Pokemon game. In Pokemon Pearl, Diamond, and Platinum there is a lady in Hearthome City in the Pokemon Fan Club (she has blonde hair) that tells you if your Pokemon like you. There is also and app. for your Poketch when you press the Pokemon in your party with your stylus hearts will appear. (Don't go into your party though it's on the bottom screen on your Nintendo DS) three hearts is the max which means it's really happy/likes you.
