How do you know when a girl is lying?

To tell if someone is lying you have to look at three things; the words they say, their body language and mannerisms, and micro expressions.

Generally, a liar won't use contractions (where they shorten words like don't and can't) and they will repeat the question in their answer, for example, have you ever stolen anything? a simple no would be a more trustworthy than, I have never stolen anything. A liar will always take a defensive stance whilst someone telling the truth will go on the offensive when you say you don't belive them.

A liar will attempt to place items between themselves and the person asking the questions, this can include turning away or crossing their arms in front of their chest.

Many times people who lie all of the time, may begin to believe their own lies. Generally, people who lie do not look you in the eye or have a tendency to embellish the lie. This could be a clue. =Answer= Because we don't know ourselves 100% we can't be expected to know another person 100%. Some signs are the person asking you out, making an excuse to break the date and you find out either from someone else or you see it with your own eyes that this person was out on the night of your. You have to simply be aware of what they say, do and see if it jives. To ask this question you must already have your suspicions and the only thing you can do other than second-guessing the person (bad move) is to catch them in the act of a lie. The other poster is absolutely correct in saying that people who lie can begin to believe their own lies. I would like to add that some people have lived extraordinary lives and it may sound over the top to you, but it could be true, so go slow and try to prove this person is lying (if they are.)

If the person looks in the upper right corner of their eyes while saying something to you then they are lying for sure because that is the creative side of their brain. It might be the left side I'm not 100% sure but its one of those. Answerthat or they do not look you in the eye. The only way to know is knowing yourself who you are, true honest people are the only ones who can tell.

Mumbling and talking faster then normal could signify that hes desperately trying to rush past answering your questions.

3.He starts fidgeting.

People stress out and get antsy when they lie. Telltale signs, touching his face, blinking a lot or playing with an object in front of him.

you know this when she cries all of the suddenly and stops after a grown up leaves. she may also change her voice or say" nuh uh" in an annoying way. be sure to look for signs like shaky voice, not looking straight at you, or even talking angrier than usual ( she might be serious or either pretending. know that girls are very good at acting). but normally you can just buy a tape recorder and tape record the whole conversation and your parents will believe you better. this only applies to younger sisters who are annoying and won't tell the truth to their parents just to get out of trouble

You can't really. But for me..I just look in the eyes, and I can sort of tell if their lying or not. If you think they are lying to you, just look them in the eye and say tell the truth. And be serious.

1. A liar will look you in the eyes too much.

eg Make too much eye contact when telling a lie.

2. A liar will use formal language over informal.

eg Instead of saying "I didn't take your cookies"

he'll say "I did not take your cookies."

3.When someone is lying they will limit their expressions to only their mouth."

4. A liar will subconsciously make gestures that do not match their emotions.

eg "Yeah I would love to help you move" and simultaneously give little shakes with his head.

eg "I disagree with you" and simultaneously give little nods of your head.

5. A liar will subconsciously place an object between them and their accuser.

6. A liar will use your words of a question to make an answer.

eg Instead of saying

"I didn't take your cookies"he'll echo your words and say "I did not take your cookies."

Otherwisehe'd just say "Nuh" or "No"

7. Liars like to add unnecessary details into their statements

It is over-compensating, because you know you are lying so you'll throw in a few extra details to convince people.

eg " I forgot to put deodorant under my left arm when I wasn't stealing your car"

8. Liars are horrible at telling their stories backwards.

People who are not lying but telling the truth can tell their story in reverse order, that is from the end back to the start again, without much trouble. However, liars have trouble reversing the story flow of their alibi because they have learnt it in a particular order, and remember it only in a particularl sequence..

eg If they are lying where they ended up, if you ask them to tell you what happened they are going to start at the beginning again: but you can start at the end of the story, and ask what happened before (whatever), and then slowly move backwards towards the start of the story.

They invented it in one order, but then they have to access it in a different way, so they get all confused and muddled-up. That is why Police ask the same questions again and again, and from different angles, and from "good cop, bad cop" perspectives : if all the answers don't match then they know you have been lying.

Police are taught how to spot liars.

At a teaching seminar the FBI instructor said they use TV footage of Ex-President Bill Clinton to teach its agents how to spot when a person is lying "because he is such a good example" [and everybody in the audience laughed!}

It is hard to tell if someone is lying to you. Sometimes you can't tell at all. All you can do is wait and see if they are lying to you. Liars never get away with lying...eventually you will find out the truth.
