"In light of my experience, and because I know there are others out there who dream of one day having curves of their own, here are my own set of tips on how to deal with a loss of appetite:
I've been using Sensa for almost a month now. Basically, its a powder you sprinkle over your food to help with portion control. My mom gave it to me on my birthday, but I'm pretty sure you can find it on QVC. If not, Google it. My problem has always been overeating... it seems to take a lot for me to feel full. Sensa has been great! I'm on week 3 and I've lost 5 pounds, which is awesome because I lost the weight without feeling hungry. That has never been the case for me with other diets. I always end up sneaking food because I'm starving.
There are lot of appetite suppressants available. Some popular choices include Adipex, proactol, reductil, meridia, zotrim etc.
You can increase your appetite by having sexual intercourse.
Here are a few sure-fire ways to increase one's appetite:
# Exercise -- burning calories means you'll be hungry for additional fuel. # Smoke marijuana -- THC, the active ingredient in cannabis is a proven appetite stimulant. # Get proper sleep -- sleep cycles and appetite can be related. Healthy sleep increases appetite....
Various appetite stimulant medications are available if there is a medical condition suppressing the appetite, such as dementia, cancer or cancer therapy, AIDS, etc.
The three most often prescribed have been:
Remerol
Marinol
Megace
And in some states:
Medical Marijuana
Also:
Steroids in low doses may sometimes help, if there are no contraindications.
Marinol is a capsule that has the active ingredient in marijuana that gives the "munchies". It is good since the dosage is controlled, it doesn't need to be eaten or smoked (although there are vaporizers for delivery of medical marijuana) and it also helps with nausea due to chemotherapy, etc. Some doctors are hesitant to prescribe it due to the perceived connection with street drug use, but it can be effective and should be considered along with other appetite stimulants that have more adverse side effects.
Non Medical Conditions:
If the reason for the loss of appetite is not a medical condition or treatment, then some people can improve appetite by Chewing Gum, using aroma therapy, and some herbs are available at health food stores that are claimed to help. These may also help those with medical loss of appetite, but are usually less effective for the extremely lowered appetite from medical conditions.
All you have to do is to wait until the body tells you that it is hungry. If you are having trouble building up an appetite you may have something like an endocrine imbalance. If you are concerned, please see your doctor.
