How do you make a balsa wood tower?

its actually very simple. first create a base with glue by making it anyway you want but remember it needs to be sturdy. i personally i create an open box and then make a run way down the center. secondly create the main tower by lining up the balsa wood side by side and gluing it together, i use a hot glue gun. make a hole in the center of each tower about 5cm from the top. this is where the axial to the throwing are will rest. third create the throwing arm by gluing some of the wood together in an l shape. remember if its not sturdy then your trebuchet is crap. take a pencil and glue it somewhere along the the arm perpendicularity. this is the axial. the pouch and rope for the ball is slightly difficult if you have big fingers but ill cover that later. now put everything together with the base on the ground (or table) and glue the towers perpendicularity to the base, insert the arm in to the holes you cut earlier. next add support to the main tower to keep it from shaking but making sure that the arm has a full range of motion just to be safe. after that then we need to attach that pouch i discussed earlier. take some cloth and poke a hole in each corner. feed some string through one side and some in the other so it looks like you have two triangles out of string opposite each other with the cloth in between. tie a loop in one end and leave the other alone. take the string without the loop and glue it to one end of the trebuchet. have the other end loop around the end of the wood. finally you need to attach weight to the opposite side of the arm. i just jam a paper clip in and get the weight to hang but there are better method that I'm working on developing. your done i believe, if i left something out ill re post with what i forgot. hope it helps!

To make a good balsa wood tower you need to use circles. they are stong and circular. Tape them together with Duct Tape, heavy duty works best.

Lots of triangles because balsa wood is not strong and because triangles are the basis of construction. (you also need to make it as short as possible.)
