Apply for Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SVEP) to US University you have chosen for studying.

Chose the university based on the course and ranking of your exam. Apply for the university you have finalized, it is better to keep two or three colleges as option. Once the university accepts your enroll, you would be given Form I-20 if you are eligible for F or M visa and Form DS-2019 if you are eligible for J visa. F visa is for academic full time course, M is for non academic or vocational programs. J visa is for professors or exchange visitors program. Since you are going for full time, you would be getting F visa.

Depending on the purpose of your visit the visa type varies from A to Z . For example if you need B-1 visa. The process of applying for a B1 visa involves careful preparation. It is important to present an error free application the first time, since it becomes very difficult, if not impossible, to successfully obtain a B-1 visa if you have previously been denied a visa. Errors on the B1 visa application process can make you permanently ineligible to visit the U.S. pursuant to a valid visa. For student visa F-1 you need to apply to study in a university and get Form I-20. With that you apply for visa and get Form I-94 in US. For fiancee visa the eligible US citizen should petition for K-1 using Form I-129F. So procedure differs for each visa.

If you are in Britain, you can apply on line and pay on line, you get a reference number to put with your passport..and yes it must be error free

What is a difference between f1 visa and student visa?

The terms "F1 visa" and "student visa" are often used interchangeably, but there are some differences between them. Let's break it down: F1 Visa: An F1 visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows foreign nationals to study in the United States at accredited colleges, universities, seminaries, conservatories, academic high schools, language training programs, or other academic institutions. It is specifically for academic purposes and is granted to individuals who intend to pursue a full course of study in the U.S. The F1 visa is typically issued for the duration of the student's academic program, plus an additional period for practical training (such as Optional Practical Training or OPT) in the student's field of study. Student Visa: Student visa" is a broader term that encompasses various types of visas issued by different countries for the purpose of studying abroad. While the F1 visa is a type of student visa specifically for studying in the U.S., other countries may have different types of student visas with their own requirements and regulations. For example, in Canada, international students typically obtain a study permit to pursue their education. In summary, the F1 visa is a specific type of student visa for studying in the United States, while "student visa" can refer to visas for studying in any country, each with its own set of rules and requirements.
