Each province is different. You could check a website for the provincial government that you live in to see if a holograph will is acceptable. That is one that you write yourself, in your own handwriting. There are also will kits available, often at bookstores. Of course, to cover all bases, go to a lawyer. You should ask how much they charge for a basic will, as they all could have different prices. Ask for a list of questions that you need to answer for them ahead of time, so you go there prepared. This will include things like full name and address of whom you wish to be the executor of your will, the beneficiaries, specific requests, legal guardians if you have underage children, and also who could have power of attorney, etc. Do you want to be on life support, or be allowed to die if you are brain dead? How do you wish your remains to be dealt with? do you want to donate your body to science, be cremated, buried, funeral, etc, etc.

It is well worth getting a lawyer for such an important legal document. (no, I am not a lawyer.) Hope this helps a bit.
