according to the U S Government: What Jobs Can Youth Do?

When You Are 13 Or Younger . . .

You can deliver newspapers.

You can work as a baby-sitter.

You can work as an actor or performer in motion pictures, television, theater or radio.

You can work in a business solely owned or operated by your parents.

You can work on a farm owned or operated by your parents.

However, parents are prohibited from employing their children in manufacturing, mining, or any other occupation declared hazardous (listed below) by the Secretary of Labor.

When You Turn 14 . . . You also can work in an:

* office, * grocery store, * retail store, * restaurant, * movie theater, * Baseball park, * amusement park, or * gasoline service station. You generally may not work in:

* communications or public utilities jobs, * construction or repair jobs, * driving a motor vehicle or helping a driver, * manufacturing and mining occupations, * power-driven machinery or hoisting apparatus other than typical office machines, * processing occupations, * public messenger jobs, * transporting of persons or property, * workrooms where products are manufactured, mined or processed, or * warehousing and storage. == == * There are labor laws that prevent some 14-year-olds from entering the job market, so make sure to ask your parent or guardian. If you're too young for mainstream jobs, there's always the possibility of doing side jobs - such as raking and mowing lawns - and babysitting. You want to build up a good reputation with people, so that they pass on your name to friends and co-workers. Show up on time, have a positive attitude and always ask if they are satisfied with the results. When babysitting go the extra mile, if a baby is sleeping and there are dirty dishes in the sink, do them. If you are watching older children, throw together a clean-up game to pick up their messy room(s). Get creative and you'll be remembered... == == * You can cut grass, clean a neighbors yard, paper route, recycling cans, baby sit, wash cars, run errands for older folks == == * Become a Balloon Twister == == * Pretty much anything, mow yards, clean yards, walk dogs

* Mow lawns, I started mowing lawns when I was 11 or 12 let me tell you I hated it. However, I was able to buy new dirt bikes every year until I was out of school and an adult. I am now a landscape contractor with 20 employees, 10 trucks, 3 tractors, a home a 2005 911 Porsche all from cutting grass. One bit of advice buy a Honda mower 216hx commercial type cost approx $1200, a good blower and weed whacker and learn Spanish. Good luck, you can do it. * teen need a job - they can help do work in the after noon at daycare's == == * The first thing that comes to mind is just working at home. Do your parents give you an allowance for doing chores around the house? Ask your mom or dad if they can suggest some chores like washing the dishes or taking out the trash that they would pay you for. But don't expect too much at first.

* Also, try babysitting. I would suggest starting with your younger siblings or close neighbors/family friends. Take a babysitting course with the Red Cross or SafeSitter (at your local hospital). Then advertise your abilities through business cards, your parents and friends, and whatever else your parents suggest. Remember to follow any rules they have set, including who you can babysit for and how long. Babysitting is not just for girls. A woman with only sons and no daughters might prefer a male babysitter.

* You could also do yard work with your dad or another older man. I know of several guys who cut grass and trim hedges and make a lot of money. Ask your parents if this would be something you could participate in. * I've included a few suggestions above, but ask your mom or dad, teacher, or older sibling for some more. Teenagers can make money. You just have to know how to do it. * Baby sitting, yard work, newspaper route, mow lawns around your town, Clean dog poop from peoples yard, detail peoples cars, go around during snow storms and shovel drive ways, deliver your local newspaper, run errands for the elderly, * A 14-year-old can always make money by selling old items, babysitting, pet-siting, or by doing simple chores. it will not seem like a lot of money, but it adds up! :)

Newspaper runs, lawn work, odd jobs, dishwashing, ... Yeah, I know, I'm a 14-year-old . Here are a couple of suggestions. Teen actor, teen singer, mow a lawn, rake leaves, teen , babysit, look around for job offerings for 14-year-olds. Yeah, but you know how hard it is to just out of nowhere become an actor (EVEN IN A COMMERCIAL) or a . So, unless you have the dedication and time, I don't suggest that. What about making your own website and selling. Or make Video Games and sell those. You could also tutor, or if your good at something, sell your work, offer your talents, or teach others. I know, I'm a fourteen year old to, and there's not many job offers or options for us. Video games is a good way to go unless you dont have the time or effort. It is tough to make money as a 14-year-old. If you live in a nice community, you can just make a sign and put it in a public place or your local paper. I just write on it something like "I am a 14-year-old boy who would like to make a little money this summer. I can and am willing to do just about anything you need. Just give me a call at ***-****." It helps to not be specific, because people will think of things that they don't like doing on their own or need help doing. Besides, depending on what your community is like, s, especially elderly s will like to help out a kid trying to make a quick buck. It helps if they know you and know you are a nice boy. (If you are.) The one way you can NOT benefit from this technique is if you are not willing to work hard and don't want to work for your money.

Well a 14 year old could always start his/ her own business by either selling a product or offering a service. I believe it is legal for a 14 year old to work for a company but only for 3 hours at a time and if the company will hire you at such a youngage.

At 14, you are going to be limited to small jobs like lawn mowing, snow shoveling/plowing (if of course you happen to live in a place that snows), landscaping, etc. If you were hoping to make steady income, you might have to wait until you are 16 because that is usually the minimum age that places will hire and you will be able to drive.

A good idea would be to volunteer at some local organizations in your community, get to know what kind of job you would want to be doing. Volunteering will greatly benefit you in the future. 1) Companies or organizations hiring you will see that you volunteered and know you are serious about working 2) Volunteering also looks great on college applications 3) Volunteering is rewarding work.

I know volunteering doesn't sound like much fun, but you should really try it because I have had a lot of fun volunteering at a food pantry near me. It really opens up more jobs and opportunities for the future. You can always volunteer with a friend if you want to.

I am hoping to volunteer at another local organization this school year and hopefully earn a job for the organization in the summer. In the end, I would like to save up for a car for college. Sorry this answer was so long, I hope I helped you with some options. Good luck!
