The most effective time to perform astral projection is the instant you wake up, ideally before opening your eyes or moving. During this time focus on one thing, such as your breathing. As you do this, you may begin to experience vibrations. Quickly move your eyes(without opening them) to increase the sensations. When the vibrations get strong enough, just roll out. I have found this method to be very effective.

Astral projection (or astral travel) is an interpretation of out-of-body experiences (OBEs) achieved either awake or via lucid dreaming, deep meditation, or use of psychotropics. Proponents of astral projection maintain that their consciousness or soul has transferred into an astral body (or "double"), which moves in tandem with the physical body in a parallel world known as the astral plane. Does astral projection work?

Astral projection refers to any form of out-of-body experience. Astral projection is similar to a lucid dreaming, which is very possible. A lucid dream is when you have a dream and are conscious of the fact that you are in a false reality. If you have ever felt pain in a dream, you know how powerful your subconscious is, which would make saying astral projection impossible very unreasonable. What is the history of astral projection?

From what I understand, the practice of astral projection originated thousands of years ago, in the mountains of Asia. It has been a meditation practiced throughout history, but has become particularly prominent in recent years. As to whether or not astral projection is truly an out-of-body trip I cannot say. I have had a few experiences that I believe are similar to, if not the same as what many occult people refer to as "astral projection", but I honestly cannot prove whether the projection was all in my mind or not.

I have looked into this question and the only thing they are able to say is that while undergoing astral projection they believe the person puts themself into a deep trance much like dreaming.
