If you've already saved your file, or haven't saved yet, click File>Save As... then you type your title, and below the first scroll down menu, there is a second one that says File Format. Click the menu and you get the available formats that you convert the file into. Hope this helps.

∙ 14y agoIf referring to saving a file in a different format on Windows Movie Maker, it can't be done. A project file in Windows Movie Maker has a .MSWMM file name extension that can only be accessed in the program.
To save a MSWMM file in a different format, you need to Publish/Finish the movie first. This process will convert the project file into a Standard viewing format. Once that is done, you can use a video converter to change the exported file to a format of your choice.
